I've been staying here and recommending my friends and family stay here for several years now. The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean. The area is peaceful. Low traffic in parking lot and street. AC gets cold. Hot water was hot, cold water was cold. Outlets worked normally. Is it the top of the line hotel? No. But you're not paying top of line prices either. My stuff is never touched while I'm away. The vehicles are always safe over night. There's free Wi-Fi. Although, the signal drops time to time, which I informed them, but it's still weak to use in the room itself. I intend to return every year.

Great location near food and stores for little items. BIGGEST THING, only 26min from the Texas Renaissance Festival! It is a old motel, but has everything one needs (microwave, fridge, and tv). Room clean and bed comfortable. Staff was nice and service is great, accidentally locked my key in the room. Staff was on it and helped immediately.

An unexpected surprise in the best way. Yes, it is a dated motel, but cute and quaint nonetheless. The owners are kind and take great care of their business and customers. The best example of what they represent... this morning the owners were outside working on their cute little flower garden. Who does that in this day and age at a business? Lovely people and place to hang your hat while traveling.

Cold AC. Excellent front desk staff. Older motel. Could use some touch ups in the bedrooms but otherwise great find in a small town. Convenient location and tasty food next door at Carrols. Pool was closed but looked well maintained. Charlie was a great host. We would definitely start again

Man I don’t even know where to start off but I’ve been here for about a month and a half and let me tell you , Charlie the owner such a very nice man , and also very welcoming , makes it feel like home , everything about this location has everything you need close by, I highly recommend checking out vanguard motel.
